A Scrapbook
Lutheran World Relief Project

An important project at Immanuel, for Lutheran World Relief, is a School Kit Project. Members of the church sew cloth bags, to be filled with paper, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, scissors, rulers, and crayons, and sent to Lutheran World Relief. These will be boxed, and disbursed throughout the Third World, to be used in the education of students who do not have supplies. In 2008, several hundred kits were assembled, boxed and sent on their way from Immanuel to destinations around the world.

Sewn kits ready to be filled
School kits are sewn by members of Immanuel and offered at the communion rail for members to pick up and fill with needed school supplies.
Assembling school kits
Luther Leaguers, their sponsors and members of the church get in on putting the kits together too.
Shipping school kits
Kits, assembled at Immanuel, are delivered to the Lutheran World Relief warehouse in St. Paul, MN, on their first leg of the journey overseas to students in Third-World countries.
